Interesting Theatre Fact:
In Ancient Greece, actors were called "hypocrites" (ὑποκριτής), which originally meant "one who responds" or "explains." Over time, the word took on the meaning of "hypocrite" because actors portrayed emotions and thoughts that were not necessarily their own!
Also, in ancient Greek theatre, women were not allowed to perform on stage-all roles, even female ones, were played by men. Luckily, theatre today is open to everyone!
